Trendy neighbourhoods

We woke up at nine o’clock. We had twenty minutes of transports and five minutes on foot to reach the British Museum. This Monument was free, so we could entre the museum to see how it was done. It was opened in 1759. This building reflected the image of London : a mixing between modern and antique.

There were a lot of impressive columns on entrance. Walls were composed of blocks of stone piled. It looked like a building from the Antiquity, but inside it was completely different. In the great room, we could see a big glass roof that let the sun’s ray light up the hall. It was built in 2000 by Lord Foster.

After the lunch, we went to Piccadilly circus and China Town. To separate these district, there were big red asian archs. With a lot of colors and chinese scipts one of them was beautiful. It was composed of three tile roofs. A lot of tourists took pictures. Buildings here were according to Chinese culture. The demarcation between China Town and the other districts was clear : all China Town’s streets had Asian ornaments. Just next to one arch there is a funny store: M&M’s word. This building was composed only of large glasses and few metal girders. So, it was an opposition of styles.
