Stratford is the Olympic district in the north-east of London. The area is 250 hectares long. This district was built in 2012 for the Olympic Games. Before, it was an industrial estate. In this area, there were four big sportive structures. The most impressive is the « London Olympic stadium » with 80,000 places. There were also the Aquatic Center, the Copper Box and the Lee Valley VeloPark.

The London Olympic Stadium has a great particularity. It can adapt the number of place. During the Olympic Games, there were 80,000 places, but after there were only 25,000 places. This architecture was atypical with steel tubes. All around the stadium, tubes keep the structure with a triangular layout. Thanks to these rods, we can see the stadium from far. A big screen is in front of the way. It lights up the stadium and it makes it more attractive.

The Aquatic centre is a structure with 17,500 places. Now, its capacity is 2,500 thanks to the removable stand. During the Olympic Games, the big stands were established on the left and on the right of the swimming pool. They overhang the pool. After the Games, the architecture of the building changed completely. Without the stands, it is sober and the blue of the pool reflects on the picture doors.
The Copper Box is litteraly a square building made of copper. Moreover, the Lee Valley VeloPark is a velodrome which is composed of red wood.
